Baby & Mother care

ARE YOU DOING YOUR BIT TO MAINTAIN THE PERFECT SKIN AND HAIR YOUR BABY WAS BORN WITH?

A little beauty everyday care ensures that the natural beauty of youth does not fade away too soon. Here are a few basic guidelines to an easy, home beauty regime for your kids.

Instead of waiting till problems crop up, it’s best to ensure that those rosy cheeks, pearly teeth and shining hair stay that way. Though most of us may have an established personal care routine, we tend to forget that little ones need it as much as we do.

Little babies have silken skin and most families nourish a baby’s skin but also relax her. After the bath, use a light moisturizing lotion. Unfortunately, in hot weather, many babies react adversely to oils and moisturizers, and break out into a rash.

If this happens, switch to a calamine based lotion. During the cooler, drier season, make sure to keep the lips well protected with Vaseline petroleum jelly. Use a bit of oil on the hair, so that is easy to manage. Once your baby begins to crawl, don’t forget those rub burned knees need a little extra care, and so be generous with the cream.

As she grows into a toddler, you may wish to stop the oil massage, but do continue with the moisturizing routine. During the summer season, if you should decide to use powder, make sure that it is applied on clean, dry skin.

During swimming, smear some sunscreen lotion with a high SPF factor; else the sun’s harmful rays may cause the delicate skin to burn and peel.

Once kids stat going to school, they get dirty beyond recognition. Bathing twice a day using glycerin soap is advisable. Avoid using soap on her face, as it is too harsh and causes drying of the skin. Clean your kid’s face with non-soap based face wash.
